A .577 PATTERN 1853 THREE BAND PERCUSSION VOLUNTEER RIFLE BY A. HENRY, CIRCA 1860, no visible serial number,
with 39in. Birmingham proofed barrel faintly inscribed at breech 'A. HENRY EDINBURGH' fitted with the usual military pattern ladder rear-sight graduated to 900 yards and barley corn front-sight, borderline engraved lock with the name 'A. HENRY' to the centre, regulation brass mounted full walnut stock with chequered wrist and fore-end, butt with a recent inset large plain and unmarked brass disc (likely replacement for a previous presentation plaque), sling swivels and original loading rod
